On Wednesday 10th February 2021, our application to develop a unique holiday venue for the Maldon area was refused at the committee stage.

Whilst disappointing, we still strongly believe in the planning arguments we put forward, not least the creation of 97 full time equivalent jobs, a 17% increase in Maldon’s annual staying visitor nights, and a £3 million per year uplift into the local economy, including much needed custom for Maldon’s attractions, pubs, restaurants, and shops.

We do not believe the economic benefit from this project has been given due weighting, or the subjective concerns raised, appropriately considered against the very detailed mitigation that we presented.

We are considering our options going forward and will advise in due course.
