Maldon Promenade Park: Maldon, 6 Miles
A lovely park that runs alongside the estuary. There is a children's
play area, ornamental lake, refreshment kiosks and a splash park during
the summer months. Later in 2015 there will be an 18 hole adventure golf
attraction and beach huts that are available to rent by the day. Ideal
for walks along the sea wall or a family day out.
Madison Heights: Maldon, 6 Miles
A local entertainment venue that provides ten pin bowling, a roller skate rink, children's play centre, Chinese buffet restaurant and family steakhouse restaurant.

Marsh Farm: South Woodham, 7 miles
A 30 acre adventure park with animals and lots of other attractions throughout the year. As well as a range of farm animals, there is a daily bird of prey display and plenty of things going on to fill a whole day for the family.

Hyde Hall: Rettendon, 6 miles
RHS Garden Hyde Hall is frequently featured on TV and is one of the finest venues of its type in the country. With a wide variety of plants and feature gardens it is well worth a visit. Open all year, there are frequent special events that are listed on the RHS website.

Stow Maries World War One Aerodrome: Purleigh, 6 miles
This is the most complete First World War aerodrome in the world and is currently undergoing extensive restoration which will make it a major attraction for the area. It is open Thursday, Friday & Sundays for most of the year and there are a number of fly ins and special events during the summer season. The home of 37 Squadron from 1917, it was first built to provide fighter protection to London from Zeppelin raids.

Barleylands Farm and Craft Village: Billericay, 16 miles
A working farm with lots of animals and other attractions. There is a mini railway, tractor rides, zip wire and children's play area both outdoor and inside for when it is raining. Visit the Craft Village and find unique handmade gifts and items a world away from everything the high street has to offer. Plus you can often see the crafters demonstrating their skills.

Maldon Combined Services Museum: Maldon, 6 miles
The aim of the Combined Military Services Museum is to display artefacts from Britain's proud military history, for the education and enjoyment of both present and future generations. The museum is fully air conditioned and the collections are kept in high quality display cases, providing a comfortable experience for visitors and a stable environment for the preservation of the artefacts. Open Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holidays, it is ideal to visit when you are in or near Maldon.
