The Warren Estate is home to the David Brooks Golf Academy, where the goal is simply to help you achieve your goals in the game. Whether the ambition is to learn, improve or excel, you will find a team of coaches dedicated to moving your golf forward.

Developing golfing skill takes time and patience but can be accelerated with guidance from a specialist coach. The starting point is a review of your recent performances to highlight strengths and identify any inconsistency in the golf shots you are hitting. We then analyse impact and your golf swing to identify the cause of the ball flight problems you are experiencing, before agreeing a plan to resolve these.

Coaching sessions vary for timescale and cost depending on which coach you work with.

Our Short Game Schools are for golfers who want to improve their performance around the green, lower scores, and gain a new level of confidence in the short game. During the day we cover how to

• Build a reliable technique for putting, chipping, pitching and bunker play
• Make practice time effective and enjoyable
• Improve feel and control of distance within the short game
• Overcome nerves and deal with the pressure of competition
• Play from difficult lies around the green
• Increase confidence and feel good about the short game

Our junior coaching sessions focus on golf skills but also include a mix of games to develop general sports abilities. We use fun and engaging activities to develop your child’s understanding of the different aspects of golf, resulting we hope in a lifelong interest and enjoyment for your child.

Head Professional

MSc, PGA Qualified, UKCC Level 4 Coach

David is one of the leading full-time professional golf coaches in the country. In addition to his position as Head Professional at The Warren, David has several prominent positions within the game including coaching roles for England Golf as a Regional U18 Coach for the West Midlands Boys, Lead Coach for the Essex Golf Union, and Tutor in coaching and sports science for the PGA.

David has a Masters Degree in Sports Coaching from the University of Birmingham and in 2014 was one of the first coaches in the UK to be awarded a UKCC Level 4 status for golf coaching.

Assistant Professional

PGA Qualified, ASQ Level 2 Coach

Andy is a fully qualified PGA Professional who recently completed his PGA foundation degree, achieving a merit award and coming 4th in a year with over 200 students. He is a Level 2 Golf Coach and also has a 2:1 Foundation Degree in Coach and Athlete Development (FdSc). Andy is currently sharing his time between coaching and competing on the PGA East Region Tour.

In early 2021, Andy was appointed as a County Coach for the Essex Golf Union, with responsibility for the U14 squad.

Assistant Professional

PGA Qualified, ASQ Level 2 Coach

Tim completed a 3 year PGA foundation degree programme in Spring 2021. He has worked part time in the Proshop for the past five seasons since completing his first degree in Business Studies and International Relations in 2018. Tim wishes to build on this experience and develop a career in golf business management and coaching.

PGA Registered, ASQ Level 1 Coach

Nick is currently undergoing his PGA training. He has received his bachelor degree in Sports Management from Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina. Nick was also a part of the University golf team (The Royals), competing in tournaments all across the country. Nick has a deep passion for the game, and is eager to share his knowledge and understanding of the game of golf to others.
